WINTER 10 NUMBER 2
2 DECEMBER 2012

The second winter 10 of the year was not as well attended as the first I am afraid. Safe to say there were more spectators (mince pie hangers on) than riders.

I think the weather and a few injuries, colds etc diminished the field somewhat. There were only 3 idiots....sorry riders willing to brave the icy conditions, Colin (it's no that bad) Meikle, David ( nae gloves and nae feet warmers) Aitken and Alan ( I'm totally lost here) Graham.

So with a bootful of coffee, shortbtead, fairy cakes and mince pies, yes the ones with the icing, the timekeepers etc were keen to get the riders off and get back to Andy's cafe. Needless to say they did a bit of damage including David's dog at the picnic. Manners prevailed and a small amount of nosh was left for the needy riders.

First man back and with the only sub 30 minute time was Mr. Meikle with a 28.58. A minute slower than last month but still going well. David Aitken was the next man accross the line, his time 33.09. There was a bit of a wait for Alan Graham to come home and in that time those pies and biscuits left were getting mighty tasty looking!

However news came through that Alan had punctured and not far from home either. Never mind Alan, a puncture repair kit is now on your Christmas list. Thanks to all that showed, Jack for his timekeeping and Andy and Roberta for the much welcome food and drink.

There was talk at the end of the day about running the event in January! Jack said he was willing to time keep and Andy said something about getting rid of some old turkey or was he talking to Roberta, I don't know. Anyhow we will leave it to the riders to decide nearer the time.
